The New York South Area Assembly focusses on communication with the World Service Office. Al-Anon issues are discussed by District Representatives (DRs) and Group Representatives (GRs) but any Al-Anon member can attend and participate (though only DRs & GRs can vote).
Intergroup and the Area are two separate service arms of Al-Anon. Intergroup Representatives (IRs) meet at quarterly IR meetings. Group Representatives (GRs) meet quarterly at Area Assemblies.
